Listening is a critical tool for healing ourselves and our communities. We all think we know how to listen, but we often spend the time while someone else is talking to think about what we can say. Learning to listen with no goals other than to hear what is said takes practice, and yet can make the difference between healing and conflict. Being listened to, in this way, can change so much in our lives. When we listen to ourselves, we change our relationship to a problem so that solutions can come naturally.
